For James and Rica, timing was everything. “I had, many years ago, joined Christian Connection,” says James, “I actually felt Holy Spirit, conviction that it wasn’t the time. Years later, I’d felt the desire to go down the track of a Christian online dating… I accepted that God was taking me down that route, and two or three days later this gorgeous woman popped up on my feed, and I thought I’d get in touch.” Rica says, “I sat in prayer and felt the Holy Spirit tell me to join Christian connection, and after some wrestling, I listened, and within a half an hour, I got a little pop up saying, James likes you. And the rest is history.”
“Two weeks after we’d started messaging, we’d met in person,” James remembers. “We actually found out that we only lived half an hour away from each other.”
Their messages were “a flowing conversation, like with a friend,” he says. “And Rica sums it up really well. The day that we’d met, she said it was like meeting up again with a great friend that you hadn’t seen in a long time, that you just reconnected with, but we’d never met each other in person.”
After meeting for a first date brunch, they continued with a walk, a trip to the beach and a meet up with Rica’s friends. “We were with each other the whole day,” says James. “And then, not apart since,” says Rica.
A surprise proposal at the place they first met, a beautiful beachside wedding and a baby daughter are now all part of James and Rica’s unfolding #MetOnCC love story.
